Transforming Waste Tires Into Valuable Resources
Black Gold (Tyroil Energy) converts end-of-life tires into high-value fuel oil, carbon black, steel wire and syngas through advanced pyrolysis technology at our Sohar, Oman plant — achieving zero waste and energy self-sufficiency.
Black Gold for Development & Investment
Black Gold for Development and Investment LLC operates under the Tyroil Energy brand from its facility in Sohar Industrial Estate — Phase 7, Sultanate of Oman. As a subsidiary of Asaha International Trading LLC, we are a company registered and operating in the Sultanate of Oman, dedicated to sustainable industrial development.
Tyre pyrolysis is the heating of end-of-life tyres to 400–600 °C in an oxygen-free reactor, which breaks them down into four recoverable products: fuel oil, carbon black, steel wire and syngas.
Our state-of-the-art pyrolysis plant converts thousands of tons of end-of-life tires annually into valuable resources — fuel oil, carbon black, steel wire, and syngas — contributing to Oman's circular economy and environmental preservation.
The Pyrolysis Process
Collection
End-of-life tires are collected from across Oman — garages, dealerships, and industrial sources — and transported to our facility in Sohar Industrial Estate — Phase 7.
Tyre Cutting
Cutting the tyres into 3 pieces to reduce volume wastage while feeding the reactors.
Pyrolysis
Rubber chips are heated to 400–600°C inside an oxygen-free reactor, thermally decomposing the rubber into oil vapor, carbon residue, steel, and gas.
Separation
The outputs are separated: oil vapor is condensed into liquid fuel, carbon black is collected via sealed conveyor, and steel wire is pulled out.
Refinement
Fuel oil is stored in certified tanks, carbon black is packed in jumbo bags, and excess syngas is recycled back to heat the reactor — achieving energy self-sufficiency.
Distribution
Products are sold domestically and exported internationally in compliant containers and packaging to markets across the region.

Pyrolysis Flow Chart of Waste Tire
Black Gold · Tyroil Energy · Sohar, OmanProducts From Recycled Tyres
Fuel Oil (TPO)
Tire pyrolysis oil with a calorific value of 40–44 MJ/kg — comparable to diesel. Stored in certified barrels and exported internationally.
- Cement kilns & furnaces
- Power generation & boilers
- Marine fuel
- Diesel refinement feedstock
Carbon Black
Recovered carbon black (rCB) packed in sealed jumbo bags using our closed screw conveyor system — preventing any airborne contamination.
- Tire manufacturing
- Plastic masterbatch
- Rubber compounds & seals
- Inks, paints & coatings
Steel Wire
Bead wire and belt reinforcement steel pulled from the reactor residue. Sold as scrap to steel smelters for recycling.
- Steel smelters & foundries
- Scrap metal markets
- Pressed into cubes for transport
Syngas
Non-condensable gas (H₂, CH₄, CO) mixed with LPG and oxygen, then recycled back to fuel the reactor — making our plant energy self-sufficient.
- Reactor heating fuel
- Powers secondary production lines
- 22–40 MJ/Nm³ energy value
Environmental Impact
"The pollution from recycling and melting tens of tons of tires does not equal the pollution caused by burning a single tire in the open air."
Inside the Plant
Pyrolysis Reactor
Combustion chamber with LPG and recycled syngas heating system. The reactor operates in a completely sealed, oxygen-free environment.
Condenser & Cooling System
Multi-stage condenser array with integrated cooling tower. Transforms hot oil vapor into liquid fuel oil through controlled temperature reduction.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about tyre pyrolysis, our products and our facility in Sohar, Oman.
What is tyre pyrolysis?
Tyre pyrolysis is the thermal decomposition of end-of-life tyres at 400–600 °C inside a sealed, oxygen-free reactor. Without oxygen the rubber cannot burn; instead it breaks down into four recoverable outputs: tyre pyrolysis oil (TPO), recovered carbon black, steel wire and syngas.
What does Black Gold (Tyroil Energy) do?
Black Gold for Development & Investment LLC, operating as Tyroil Energy, runs an advanced tyre-pyrolysis facility in Sohar Industrial Estate — Phase 7, Oman. It collects end-of-life tyres from across Oman and converts them into fuel oil, carbon black, steel wire and syngas through a zero-waste, energy-self-sufficient process.
Where is the Black Gold pyrolysis plant located?
The plant is in Sohar Industrial Estate — Phase 7, Sohar, Sultanate of Oman (P.O. Box 24, P.C. 322). It is operated by Black Gold for Development & Investment LLC (C.R. 1118064), a subsidiary of Asaha International Trading LLC.
What products are made from recycled tyres?
Each tyre yields four products by weight: tyre pyrolysis oil / fuel oil (35–55%), recovered carbon black (30–40%), steel wire (10–15%) and syngas (6–15%). The syngas is recycled to heat the reactor, so the plant powers itself.
What is tyre pyrolysis oil (TPO) used for?
Tyre pyrolysis oil has a calorific value of 40–44 MJ/kg, comparable to diesel. It is used as fuel in cement kilns, furnaces, boilers and power generation, as marine fuel, and as a feedstock for diesel refinement.
Is tyre pyrolysis environmentally safe?
Yes. The process is sealed and oxygen-free, leaves zero landfill residue, and reduces CO₂ emissions by about 70% compared with tyre incineration. Exhaust passes a three-stage emission-control system of dedusting, filtration and cooling before release. Recycling tens of tonnes of tyres pollutes less than burning a single tyre in the open air.
How many waste tyres does Oman generate each year?
Oman generates more than 45,000 tonnes of used tyres per year, and over one billion end-of-life tyres are discarded globally each year. Black Gold's facility recovers value from these tyres instead of sending them to landfill or open burning.
Do you sell and export your products, and how do I buy them?
Yes. Black Gold sells fuel oil, carbon black and steel wire domestically in Oman and exports internationally across the GCC region in compliant containers and packaging. To request pricing or place an order, contact Eng. Salim Al Jabri (Managing Director) at +968 95494400 or salim@asaha.om.
